Publications & Media His works have been published in renowned domestic and international art periodicals: Chinese Photography, Popular Photography, Chinese Photographer, China Photography News, Le Monde 2, Arts Photo, AIR FRANCE MAGAZINE, Art Press, etc. 瞬間空間人間——讀吳旗的《有程序的光》 文/周一渤(職業攝影師、攝影評論家、獨立策展人、詩人) 和吳旗認識二十多年了,在他的一系列作品中,我記得最清晰的是他的《白天不懂夜的黑》,他的影像在我的腦海里早已形成一個個特別的“言語符號”:驚險、刺激、奇異、隱秘、峻拔、陡峭、自由、神怡。 “瞬間”“空間”“人間”,這是讀過吳旗的《有程序的光》后,我腦中溢出的三個關鍵詞。在這部作品里,不僅處處閃耀著“決定性瞬間”的光輝,還在空間上更加擴展和延伸了時空狀態,從而建構了自己獨特的視域、視野和視覺,進而描述了一個嶄新的世界。在這個自主意識支配的世界里,他跳出了日常生活周遭的一切束縛和限制,翻開了一個原本的存在。這種存在給我們帶來的是驚喜、亢奮、激情、新鮮、愉悅、舒暢......也有深思、靜觀、愕然、苦悶......他帶我們如“柳暗花明”般看到了世界和人間“真實”的“又一面”。 其實,在我們的生命、生活和精神、意識里,有太多的隱秘世界,它離我們很近,像“暗物質”一般運行在我們生活的平臺上,四周的環境里,生命的皺褶里,像沒完沒了的“戲劇”,從來都未停歇......吳旗找到自己心中早已預設的位置,“窺視”著很多人忽視或看不見的場景和細節......我想,蘇聯著名的戲劇理論家車爾尼雪夫斯基說的“陌生化”,應該就是如此吧。 “程序”具有現代性,屬于大數據產物,也是吳旗用心的結果,而“光”則是他的“探測器”,同時描繪著人間五味雜陳的“劇場”。 Instant Space, Mortal World——On Wu Qi’s The Light of Order By Zhou Yibo (Professional Photographer, Photography Critic, Independent Curator, Poet) I have known Wu Qi for over two decades. Among his body of works, Day Fails to Grasp the Night’s Darkness remains most etched in my memory. His images have long evolved into unique visual symbols in my mind: breathtaking, striking, uncanny, recondite, lofty, precipitous, unrestrained, and soul-stirring. Instant, Space, Mortal World — these three keywords emerged spontaneously in my mind after viewing Wu Qi’s The Light of Order. The collection brims with the splendor of the decisive moment, while stretching and extending temporal and spatial dimensions to forge his unique vision, perspective and visual language, portraying an entirely new world. In this realm governed by his self-awareness, he breaks free from the confines of mundane daily life, unveiling the primal essence of existence. Such existence brings surprise, exhilaration, passion, freshness, joy and serenity; as well as introspection, contemplation, astonishment and melancholy. Like turning a corner to find sudden bloom, he leads us to behold the hidden truth of the world and mortal life. In our lives, spirits and consciousness lie countless hidden worlds. Close at hand, they operate like dark matter within the folds of life and the fabric of our surroundings, unfolding as endless ongoing dramas. Wu Qi has found his preset spiritual vantage point, quietly observing scenes and details overlooked or unseen by most. This, I believe, perfectly embodies the defamiliarization theory of the renowned Soviet theater theorist Nikolay Chernyshevsky. "Order" carries modernity, a product of the big-data era and the fruit of the artist’s deliberate contemplation.
